About
About Melody Bounce
Melody Bounce makes physics videos where every collision plays the next note of a song.
It started as a set of Python scripts for a YouTube channel of short physics music videos. The scripts grew into a TypeScript engine with nine scenes, a sampled piano and a test suite, released as open source on GitHub under the MIT licence. This site is the browser version: the same engine, running entirely on your computer, with an export button.
What it costs
Nothing. There is no account and no paid tier. Ads from Google AdSense pay for the site, and the tool itself stays free.
What's inside
- The physics and soundtrack engine from the melody-bounce repository (MIT).
- Remotion for drawing the scenes and rendering video in the browser.
- The VSCO-2 Community Edition upright piano (CC0) and the Outfit typeface (SIL Open Font Licence).
- Public-domain melodies by Beethoven, Petzold, Grieg, Pachelbel and Mozart.
